Στο Νηπιαγωγείο Pendula στη Βουδαπέστη, με αφορμή το βιβλίο μου “Φένια, η αγαπημένη των ήχων”
Ένα ξεχωριστό σχολείο για παιδιά 3-7 ετών είναι το ιδιωτικό Νηπιαγωγείο Pendula στη Βουδαπέστη. Ένα σχολείο μέσα σε έναν πράσινο παράδεισο που σου κόβει την ανάσα. Ένα σχολείο πραγματικά συμπεριληπτικό, με τάξεις των 18 παιδιών στις οποίες φοιτούν τρία με τέσσερα παιδιά που μεγαλώνουν σε ορφανοτροφεία, πολλά εξ αυτών με αναπηρίες ή άλλες δυσκολίες. Με μια διευθύντρια, τη Laura Bavalics, η οποία είναι και δασκάλα ενός τμήματος, ήρεμη, γλυκιά, τρυφερή με τα παιδιά, μια παιδαγωγός που πραγματικά αγαπάει και πιστεύει σε αυτό που κάνει. Πέρασα μια ολόκληρη μέρα μαζί τους και ένιωσα την αποδοχή και τη γαλήνη που βιώνουν τα παιδιά. Εντύπωση μου έκανε ένα αγόρι που έπαιζε ήρεμα, ενώ στο ορφανοτροφείο έχει ανεξέλεγκτα ξεσπάσματα θυμού τα οποία δυσκολεύονται οι ενήλικες να διαχειριστούν. Το αγόρι έχει, όμως, μια «αρκετά καλή δασκάλα» κατά Winnicott, οπότε στο περιβάλλον του σχολείου μεταμορφώνεται, γίνεται αυτό που πραγματικά είναι, που μπορεί να είναι.
Εγώ τους αφηγήθηκα την ιστορία μου «Φένια, η αγαπημένη των ήχων» στα αγγλικά, ενώ η Laura μετέφραζε στη γλώσσα τους. Διέκοπτα την αφήγηση κάθε τόσο για να παίξουμε τα παιχνίδια που πρότεινε η δασκάλα της Φένιας στην ιστορία. Δύο μέρες πριν κλείσει το σχολείο για διακοπές, είχαν μείνει λίγα παιδιά τα οποία συμμετείχαν με ενθουσιασμό. Απόλαυσα τη συνάντησή μας και τους αποχαιρέτησα γεμάτη χαρά και γαλήνη. Νιώθω ευγνώμων για όλα όσα γενναιόδωρα μοιραστήκαμε και ευχαριστώ μέσα από την καρδιά μου τη Laura και τα παιδιά γι’ αυτό. Όσο υπάρχουν άνθρωποι που νοιάζονται, δάσκαλοι φωτεινοί, υπάρχει ελπίδα. Με το καλό να ανταμώσουμε ξανά. <3
Presenting my book “Fenia, the
Τhe private Pendula Preschool/Kindergarten in Budapest (Hungary) is a remarkable school for 3-7 year old children. It is a school in a green paradise that is really inclusive. It has classes up to 18 students. In each class, there are three or four children who live in foster group homes, many of whom have also disabilities or other challenges. The educational director Laura Bavalics, who is also teaching in one of the classes, is calm, sweet and tender with the children, a pedagogist who truly loves and believes in her work. I spent a whole day with them and I felt the acceptance and peace the children experience. I was impressed by a certain boy who played gently with the others, whereas, in the foster home he lives, he has frequent uncontrollable temper tantrums that adults find hard to tackle. The boy, however, has a “good enough teacher” in Winnicott’s terms, so, in the school environment he is transformed, he becomes who he really is, who he can be.
I had the chance to tell them the story from my book “Fenia, the Fairy of Sounds” in English, while Laura was translating it in their own language. I would interrupt the narration every now and then, so as to play the games suggested by Fenia’s teacher in my story. Two more days to go before the summer holiday and there were few children left who participated with enthusiasm. I enjoyed our meeting and I said goodbye being content and peaceful. I feel grateful for everything we so generously shared and I thank Laura and the children from the bottom of my heart for this. I strongly feel that as long as there are people who really care, bright teachers, there is hope. Until we meet again. <3
